Who the Cotton Ginning Award covers

The Cotton Ginning Award covers employers operating cotton ginneries and their employees who fit within the classifications of the award.

Examples of employees covered by the Cotton Ginning Award includes:

  • yard and gin cleaners
  • delivery workers
  • labourers
  • mobile plant or gin machinery operators
  • assistant/trainee ginners
  • weighbridge operators
  • qualified / experienced workers who maintain gin equipment
  • supervisors who are responsible for the operation of the gin and may supervise other employees.

The Cotton Ginning Award also covers labour hire businesses and their employees who are placed with an organisation who operates cotton ginneries.

Who the Cotton Ginning Award doesn’t cover   

The following employers and employees are not covered by the Cotton Ginning Award:

  • clerical and administrative workers
