Who the Premixed Concrete Award covers
The Premixed Concrete Award covers employers in the premixed concrete industry and their employees who fit within the classifications of the award.
The premixed concrete industry means making premixed concrete.
Premixed concrete means a mixture of cement and/or aggregates and/or water and/or similar materials that are specified by the purchaser, which is delivered ready to use.
Examples of employees covered by the Premixed Concrete Award includes employees who are:
- handling materials
- labouring
- cleaning
- operating batching plants
- operating associated plants including front end loaders
- plant servicing/basic maintenance
- testing concrete
- batching and dispatching
- in charge of a plant.
The Premixed Concrete Award also covers labour hire businesses and their employees who are placed with an organisation in the premixed concrete industry.

Who the Premixed Concrete Award doesn't cover
Clerical or administrative employees are not covered by the Premixed Concrete Award.
The Premixed Concrete Award doesn't apply to employers and employees in the on-site building, engineering and civil construction industry who are covered by the Building and Construction Award.
