Who the Passenger Vehicle Award covers

The Passenger Vehicle Award covers employers in the passenger vehicle transportation industry and their employees who fit within the classifications of the award.

The passenger vehicle transportation industry is the transport of passengers by:

  • motor vehicle (carrying less than 8 passengers), limousines or hire car
  • bus or coach
  • electric tramway, monorail or light rail.

Examples of employees covered by the Passenger Vehicle Award includes:

  • drivers
  • vehicle maintenance employees of passenger vehicles
  • supervisors of children on passenger vehicles.

The Passenger Vehicle Award also covers labour hire businesses and their employees who are placed with an organisation in the passenger vehicle transportation industry.

Who the Passenger Vehicle Award doesn't cover

The following employees are not covered by the Passenger Vehicle Award:

  • train drivers
  • employees who mainly do clerical and administrative work.
