Who the Models Award covers

The Models Award covers mannequins and models and their employers.

Mannequin means employees who exhibit clothes and fashion articles to attract commercial interest.

Model means employees who pose or act as subjects for photographers or who model hair styles for hairdressers for advertising assignments.

Examples of employees covered by the Models award include:

  • house or casual mannequins and models
  • models for still photography, TV or movie appearances
  • models for trade shows and parades.

The Models Award also covers labour hire businesses and their employees who work as mannequins or models if they’re placed with an employer and the employer isn’t covered by an award that has a classification for them.

A life model in an art studio is not covered by the Models Award.
