Who the State Government Agencies Award covers

The State Government Agencies Award covers employers in the State public sector that are established for a public purpose by or under a law of a State, governor of State, Minister of State, or body corporates that the State has an equal or controlling interest in.

It does not include state public service bodies (state government departments and administrative offices).

Examples of employees covered by the State Government Agencies Award include:

  • administrative officers
  • technical assistants
  • technical officers
  • information technology officers
  • legal officers
  • engineers
  • scientists
  • professional officers
  • general field workers.

The State Government Agencies Award also covers labour hire businesses and their employees who are placed with an organisation in the State public sector.
