In August 2022, the ABCC commenced court proceedings against Ground Zero Excavations and Haulage Pty Ltd for allegedly failing to comply with a Compliance Notice which required the company to calculate and back-pay the outstanding wages and entitlements owing to two workers. The ABCC also alleged the company’s sole director Mitchell Long was involved in the company’s failure to comply. In December 2022, these proceedings were transferred from the ABCC to the Fair Work Ombudsman. On 9 May 2023, the Fair Work Ombudsman discontinued the proceedings.
