Small business redundancy pay in the Timber Award
Small businesses have to pay redundancy pay if the business is in the:
- harvesting and forestry management sector
- milling and processing sector
- panel products sector
- manufacturing sector
- merchandising and retailing sector.
The following minimum redundancy pay applies:
Period of continuous service | Redundancy pay |
---|---|
Less than 1 year | Nil |
At least 1 year but less than 2 years | 4 weeks |
At least 2 years but less than 3 years | 6 weeks |
At least 3 years but less than 4 years | 7 weeks |
At least 4 years | 8 weeks |
A small business is one that employs fewer than 15 employees.
