Award coverage for clerical workers in the retail industry
The Retail Award covers clerical employees if they work in a retail store.
Employees that work away from the retail store are covered by the Clerks Award.
This is because the Retail Award doesn’t cover employees doing clerical work away from the store.
Example: Retail Award
Matt is a bookkeeper for a sunglasses store. He works in an office within the retail store.
He’s covered by the Retail Award.
Example: Clerks Award
Sharon works as a receptionist for a clothing store. She works at the store’s head office.
She’s covered by the Clerks Award.
