Award coverage for a recycling business

Follow these steps to work out which award covers a recycling business:

  1. Identify the industry of the business and the materials being recycled. This helps to identify which industry award can cover the employer.
  2. If there’s an industry award that covers the employer, consider the duties of the employee and whether there’s a classification that applies to the employee.
  3. If there’s more than one industry award, choose the award that best covers the employee’s job duties and where the employee works.

Some awards which cover recycling activities include:

  • Manufacturing Award
  • Cement, Lime and Quarrying Award
  • Timber Award
  • Waste Award
