What’s a broken shift?
It’s where an employee works 2 separate shifts in a day.
Can casual employees work a broken shift?
Yes.
What’s paid?
An employee is paid:
- for the hours they work
- any penalty and shift allowances that apply
- a broken shift allowance which is 1.91% of the standard rate.
Children's Services Award - clause 3 says the standard rate means the minimum weekly rate for a Children’s Services Employee Level 3.1 in clause 14.
