The Fair Work Ombudsman has recovered $239,505 in wages for 333 underpaid workers after investigating employers in Sydney’s food precincts.

Vehicle repair company faces court

The Fair Work Ombudsman has commenced legal action against a former operator of a vehicle repair business in southern Sydney and its director.

CFMMEU matter discontinued

In November 2021, the ABCC commenced court proceedings alleging that Bradley Upton and Stephen Parker, and through them the Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union (CFMMEU), engaged in an unlawful picket, and that the union also organised the unlawful picket, at a company’s construction yard in Balcatta, Perth in breach of section 47 of the Building and Construction Industry (Improving Productivity) Act.

Electrical services business penalised

The FWO has secured a total of $15,318 in penalties in court against the operators of an electrical services business in Melbourne.
