Motor vehicle smash repair business operators in court

The Fair Work Ombudsman has commenced legal action against the operators of a motor vehicle smash repair business in Western Sydney.

CFMMEU matter discontinued

In August 2022, the ABCC commenced court proceedings alleging that Arron Platt, and through him the Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union (CFMMEU), breached section 500 of the Fair Work Act while exercising entry rights as a permit holder on site at the Woolworths Warehouse and Distribution Centre Project in Auburn, NSW.

Bed and breakfast operators penalised

The Fair Work Ombudsman has secured a total of $19,980 in court penalties against the operators of a bed and breakfast business in northern New South Wales.

In August 2022, the ABCC commenced court proceedings against Ground Zero Excavations and Haulage Pty Ltd for allegedly failing to comply with a Compliance Notice which required the company to calculate and back-pay the outstanding wages and entitlements owing to two workers.
