Rostered days off (RDO) in the Road Transport (Long Distance) Award

Full-time employees get an RDO every month.

What are employees paid for the RDO?

An RDO is paid at a pro rata amount of the minimum weekly rate.

All employees are paid 20% of the minimum weekly rate for their RDO regardless of how they are normally paid.

This means that the RDO method of payment also applies to employees who:

  • are normally paid the cents per kilometre method
  • normally work long shifts
  • work more than 38 hours a week.
