Retail industry

The Retail Award covers hair and beauty employees that are employed:

• by retail industry employers, or
• by hair and beauty industry employers but perform work at a retail establishment.

Example

Victoria is a beautician. She works in a large department store applying make up to customers and selling make up products.

Victoria is covered by the Retail Award.

Entertainment industry

The Broadcasting Award covers hair and beauty employees that:

• are employed by entertainment industry employers, or
• are employed by hair and beauty industry employers and perform work in the entertainment industry and not in a hair or beauty salon.

Example

Steve is a hairdresser. He works at a television studio styling hair for news presenters.

Steve is covered by the Broadcasting Award.
